Obtaining unique particle size distributions

One of the main challenges facing pharmaceutical companies is achieving unique particle size distributions for their products. This is important for both pharmacokinetic considerations and for raising or circumventing patent barriers. However, traditional micronization methods can make it difficult for formulators to achieve the desired particle size distribution and consistency. It is often not possible to reach the desired particle size distribution only by influencing the two main micronization parameters (Feedrate and pressure). In this white paper, we will explore how the combination of a spiral jet mill with an in-line dynamic classifier can help overcome these challenges and achieve specific particle size distributions.
