5Y.PM precision balances

- 5Y.10.PM to 5Y.20.PM: 10 to 20 kg capacity, 0.01 g readability and 200 × 185 mm weighing pan
- 5Y.25.PM to 5Y.50.PM: 25 to 50 kg capacity, 0.1 g readability and 350 × 260 mm weighing pan
- 5Y.60.PM: 60 kg capacity, 0.1 g readability and 400 × 500 mm weighing pan
- 5Y.120.PM: 120 kg capacity, 0.2 g readability and 400 × 500 mm weighing pan
The RADWAG 5Y Series includes precision balances for laboratory measurements and higher-capacity industrial weighing. PS 5Y models provide readability down to 1 mg, while 5Y.PM models extend the weighing capacity to 120 kg.
The ELLIPSIS weighing terminal combines weighing functions with user identification, database management, process documentation and communication interfaces. The balances support applications including dosing, formulation, checkweighing, parts counting and workflows requiring controlled electronic records.
Key features and benefits
Laboratory and high-capacity configurations
PS 5Y balances cover capacities from 200 g to 10 100 g with readability of 1 or 10 mg. The PS 200/2000.5Y dual-range model combines 1 mg readability up to 200 g with 10 mg readability up to 2000 g.
The 5Y.PM range covers capacities from 10 to 120 kg with readability from 0.01 to 0.2 g. Weighing-pan dimensions increase with the balance capacity, supporting both compact loads and larger objects.
MONOBLOCK measuring system
5Y.PM balances use the MONOBLOCK® measuring system, designed to provide short measurement times, stable performance and low eccentricity error. The balances also include internal adjustment and four-point overload protection.
Digital Weighing Auditor
The Digital Weighing Auditor checks whether the balance is ready for operation. It supports real-time air-buoyancy compensation and indicates when an accuracy or sensitivity inspection is required.
ELLIPSIS touchscreen and visual status indication
The 10-inch colour touchscreen can display configurable working screens, widgets, graphs, statuses, notes and recent measurement history. Ambient Light uses coloured signals to communicate the balance status, procedure results and alerts.
User identification and data control
Users can be verified by password, RFID card, fingerprint reader, facial recognition or a combination of methods. RFID tags may also identify products or formulation ingredients stored in the balance database.
Functions supporting regulated workflows include electronic signatures, electronic records, audit trails, data security and validation support. The Handy Library provides access to recent measurements and reports, while Live Note allows comments to be added to measurement series and procedures.
Connectivity and remote operation
The integrated Hotspot function enables operation from a smartphone, tablet or computer, including situations where direct access to the terminal is restricted.
Interfaces include 2× USB-A, USB-C, RS 232, HDMI, Ethernet and Wi-Fi®. Modbus TCP/IP communication allows integration with a PLC for functions such as mass readout, zeroing, taring and threshold configuration.

Model selection guide
- For laboratory procedures requiring 1 mg readability, select a PS 5Y model according to the maximum combined sample, vessel and tare load.
- For higher laboratory capacities with 10 mg readability, consider the PS 5Y.M configurations.
- For two weighing ranges in one instrument, the PS 200/2000.5Y combines 1 and 10 mg readability.
- For loads from 10 to 20 kg requiring 0.01 g readability, consider the 5Y.10.PM, 5Y.15.PM or 5Y.20.PM.
- For larger loads from 25 to 120 kg, select the 5Y.PM model according to the required capacity, readability and weighing-pan size.
- Both ranges support workflows requiring identified users, electronic records, audit trails and electronic signatures.
